Welcome to Reginald Mitchell Primary School

Welcome to Reginald Mitchell Primary School, a school rooted in both community and aspiration. Originally known as Butt Lane Primary School, our school was renamed in 1951 in honour of Reginald Mitchell, the designer of the Spitfire fighter aeroplane. Born within earshot of our school, his remarkable contribution to our country continues to inspire us to encourage ambition, resilience and a belief that anything is possible for future generations.

At Reginald Mitchell, we are dedicated to helping children thrive in a happy, caring and stimulating environment where learning is enjoyable and meaningful. We aim to support every child to grow academically, socially and emotionally, developing into confident, well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the future.

Working in close partnership with parents and carers is central to our approach, ensuring children feel supported both at home and at school. At Reginald Mitchell we believe successful learning is built on strong partnerships between school and families. Our dedicated Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) and our role within the local community are central to supporting our pupils and helping them understand the diverse world around them.

As part of the Children First Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust, we work collaboratively with partner schools to enhance opportunities, strengthen leadership, and share expertise.

We actively encourage parental involvement through events and activities, fostering strong links between home and school.
