Pupil Leaders

School Council

Each class has two elected representatives who sit on our school council. They represent the views of their peers and the council creates a forum in which views and ideas can be aired and changes made in the school which have been discussed by council members.

Children are also given opportunities to act as playleaders, organising games and activities during lunch and break times. Our year 6 children act as prefects helping and caring for our younger children.

At our last school council meeting we discussed:

feedback to classes asking other pupils to raise items for discussion.

Description of this role:

From Reception – Year 6.
Be a good communicator
Attend meetings with Mrs Smith to discuss plans, ideas and issues within school.
Feedback to your class from meetings and discuss and find out their ideas.
Share class’s ideas with the school council.
Reward children for good behaviour and respect.

Team Point Captains

Team points are collected from Reception – Y6.
Lead and inspire teams.
Reward other teams for good behaviour and respect.
Provide a good role model in school for behaviour and respect particularly in corridors, assemblies, lunch times and play times.
Communicate with Staff team leader to discuss ideas, end of term treats etc.
Promote attendance within school.

Secret Spotters

From Year 1-Year 6.
Reward children for good behaviour and manners.
Be a good listener.
Feedback to their class and teacher about good behaviour they have seen.
Be a good role model to the rest of the school.

Super Spitfires

From Reception – Year 6.
Be a good friend and a role model for friendship.
Be a good listener.
Be a good communicator.
Be able to problem solve.
Be aware of the emotion board in the classroom and support children in your class that are not happy.
Talk to adults to help your friends.

Eco Reps

From Reception – Year 6.
Be interested in our world and environment.
Be a good communicator.
Be able to problem solve and think out of the box.
Be a role model for looking after our environment.
Suggest ideas on how we can improve in school.

Head Boy and Head Girl

From Year 6 only.
Promote good behaviour around the school and in the classroom.
Be a good role model for the younger children.
Be able to communicate with staff and visitors.
Be able to help organise events and activities.
Always display good manners and promote the ethos of the school.

Deputy Head Boy and Head Girl

From Year 6.
Be able to support the head boy and girl with decisions and activities/ events.
Promote good behaviour around the school and in the classroom.
Be a good role model for the younger children.
Be able to communicate with staff and visitors.
Help head boy and girl when organising events and activities.

Playground Leaders

Year 6 (Y5 trained later in the year).
Be a good role model in the school.
Provide the younger children with games and activities during lunch time.
To be a good communicator.
To be responsible and reliable.
To set up lunchtime equipment and help others to play.
Reward children who join in and share well.
